Electric Utility Fleet Managers Conference

Dedicated to providing unparalleled value specifically targeted to meet the information needs of utility fleet managers, the annual Electric Utility Fleet Managers Conference (EUFMC) will be held June 19-22, 2011 at the Williamsburg Lodge and Conference Center in Williamsburg, Virginia.

This year’s EUFMC theme– Focused Strategies for Future Success– will be addressed in high quality presentations specifically targeted to meet the information needs of utility fleet managers. On the agenda are fleet management, technology and industry issues including:

Utilization of Benchmarking Data to Define Success; Acquisition, Maintenance, Parts and Funding Strategies; Plug In Hybrid Vehicles; Fleet Hybrid Experience; Legislation and Regulations Impacting Fleets; New Standards for Cranes/Digger Derricks; 2010 Emissions – Fleet Experience and Strategies

COACH LOU HOLTZ TO ADDRESS EUFMC 2011

One of the most celebrated and accomplished coaches in sports history, Lou Holtz will return to Williamsburg this year— here he served as the College of William & Mary’s football coach from 1969 to 1971— to address attendees at the Electric Utility Fleet Managers Conference.

Aptly called “the greatest motivator of our time,” Lou Holtz had a 26-year career of inspiring players and motivating them to be winners. Most notable for building the Notre Dame University “Fighting Irish” football team into a national powerhouse, he is the only coach in NCAA history to lead six different programs to bowl games and the only coach to guide four different programs into the final top 20 rankings. His 243-127-7 career record ranks him third in victories among active coaches and eighth in winning percentage. His 12 career postseason bowl victories place him fifth on the all-time list.

At EUFMC, Holtz will use his experience and humor to help attendees learn to assess their strengths, work as a team and embrace the values that can help improve their organizations.

UTILITY KEYNOTE SPEAKER

Mike Sole, vice president of government affairs at Florida Power & Light will be the utility keynote speaker at EUFMC 2011. A marine biologist, the former Florida Department of Environmental Protection Secretary was one of the longest serving agency heads appointed by Governor Charlie Crist. Sole will address this year’s EUFMC theme.

Technology on Display

EUFMC is noted for its exhibition of the latest utility equipment and services. In 2011, the EUFMC Equipment Demonstration will feature more than 60 displays where fleet managers can meet with over 270 representatives from more than 95 manufacturers and service providers.

Sharing Best Practices

Attend EUFMC’s highly popular fleet and supplier roundtables to address common challenges and share solutions. All EUFMC events also provide an unparalleled opportunity to network with fleet managers, manufacturers and service providers.

A record 100 fleet managers were on hand for the 2010 Electric Utility Fleet Managers Conference. The 57th annual EUFMC, with the highest level of fleet participation on record, was attended by more than 30 first-time participants. Over 50 companies in the U.S., Canada and South America were represented, including investor-owned electric utilities and more than 20 fleet managers from electric cooperatives and electrical contractors.

“As a first time attendee at EUFMC I found the conference to be of great value as a fleet manager. The networking opportunities with other electric utility fleet managers is a one of a kind experience that can’t be found anywhere else. Everything about the conference was great, including the general sessions and the drive-through demonstration of vehicles and equipment. I will definitely attend future conferences.”

Bill Bonham

Senior Manager

Tennessee Valley Authority

“I have attended many fleet conferences that focus on utility and construction equipment but the Electric Utility Fleet Managers Conference is the only one that supports my needs in the electric utility field. EUFMC concentrates on bringing fleet managers and vendors together, creating a great opportunity for networking. Today, I am using things I have learned at the conference about products and management techniques to help improve the way I manage our fleet. In fact, I am currently involved in a project to implement a new fleet management system and during this process I have called on many of the resources I connected with at EUFMC. If I was asked if I would recommend this conference to other fleet managers, on a scale of 1 to 10 I would say EUFMC gets a 10!”
