Idle policy

Idle policy

Does anyone have an idle policy they would be willing to share? I would prefer one aimed at Utilities.

I am responding on behalf of Procaccini from PSE&E who wrote:

"We have the same restriction as most (no idling for greater then 3 minutes)  and (for diesels no idling more then 15 minutes if it has not run for 3 hrs).  We formed a Lean Six Sigma team to address the issue of excess idling and we have begun to rollout their recommendations.

We also have produced reports that are published monthly with information that is downloaded from our fuel management system.  The report shows the idle rate at multiple levels of the organizations down to the single vehicle level, also reports the idle cost (fuel) and CO2 emissions at idle. Let me know if you would like to discuss this in more detail.

Thanks"
