Is it time to come together

Is it time to come together

Over my years in the Emergency services a lot has changed and continues to change, and we are a very unique group in the management of ours Fleets. So I ask the questions is time for us to form some type of alliance, association, chapter the information we have is very valuable to one another and is it time that we share and grow.

I agree it would be nice to form an alliance of emergency vehicle managers. I meet with others in the industry by attending the NAFA Instutute and Expo, Police Fleet Expo, and other events that are directed at emergency vehicles. I don't know that there will ever be a formal "Association" for our types of fleet. So I will continue on the couse I have followed. The networking alone se events has returned on my investment ten fold.

I have been following the same path that John mentions:

  • NAFA has a pretty active Law Enforcement Group that is a good resource. I get real quick responses from their discussion thread.
  • Police Fleet Expo is another group I have tapped into for networking. This has become a bit more pinpointed now that Dennis has put together the west coast version.

I agree that we have law enforcement-specific issues, but I'm just not sure a seperate organization would fly. Personally, I have a full plate with the organizations I try to support already.
