State Patrol Car Replacement Criteria

The State of Utah has replacement criterial of 7 years or 105,000 miles which ever comes first. On the Hwy patrol cars they typically reach 105,000 in three to four years.

We schedule the PM intervals for every 5,000 miles.

The city of Everett replaces our equipment based on mileage or hours.

For marked patrol cars, our replacement objective is 100K miles. For all other vehicles in the city our replacement objective is 125K miles.

For marked patrol cars the average amount of time between replacement is 4 years, however we do have some vehicles that are over 11 years old with 60K miles.

The city is 32 square miles.

Vehicles that are over 15 years old, would be replaced only if we start to have a problem finding parts.

The equipment we are purchasing today is built to last longer, it is important that we reconnize this and increase equipment life standards accordinly.
