Torque Sticks

Torque Sticks

Good morning, are any of you using Torque Sticks in your shops? If so, are you satisfied with their accuracy? I have two shops using them and three not. I recently had an issue with loose lug nuts that has caused me to rethink whether to allow them or not. Any input?

We have been using torque sticks for some time with our fleet of buses. We have been happy with the performance and haven't had anything in regards to losing bolts/tires due to improper torque on the wheels. One of my earlier jobs was working at a tire shop in my youth. We used torque sticks then and they were only at most +/- 5 ft-lbs off from what they were rated at (this was in the late 90's).

We use Torque sticks but always follow up with a wrench, it depends which impact and how much air pressure you use as to how accurate they are.
